V. Admission Requirements*
1. Student Application Form
2. Copy of the exam result sheet showing that the student has qualified for higher education in his/her own country.
3. High school diploma or an official document declaring that the student is eligible for graduation from high school
4. Copy of student’s educational record (transcript) from student’s high school or equivalent institution
5. A photocopy of student’s passport
6. 1 photo (passport size)

VI. Ineligible Students
1. Students expelled from a Turkish university due to a disciplinary offense
2. Turkish citizens, Northern Cyprus citizens, and those bearing Turkish citizenship as part of their dual citizenship (Except the ones who finished all the process of secondary education in TRNC High Schools with GCE AL)
3. Students no longer bearing dual citizenship due to expulsion from TRNC citizenship within 2011
4. Students that have completed their whole high school education in Turkey
5. Students of Turkish origin that have completed their high school education in TRNC

VII. Documents Required for Registration
1. A photocopy of passport (verified by notary)
2. Copy of the exam result sheet showing that the student has qualified for higher education in his/her own country
3. The original of diploma (verified by notary or the Turkish Representatives in foreign countries). For those who do not have the diploma yet: a formal document indicating the certain date of graduation from senior high school, the official document showing the exam result of GCE AL, and the graduation from TRNC high school with all the process finished for the ones who are the citizen of TRNC
4. An approval of high school diploma from Turkish Ministry of National Education or Turkish Embassy/Consulate in the applicant’s country
5. The original transcript (certified by notary or Turkish Representatives in foreign countries)
6. For programs in which the medium of instruction is Turkish the original form of the Certificate of Competency in Turkish as a Foreign Language, verified by Turkish Embassy/Consulate
7. A medical report verified by the authorized health institutions in the applicant’s country, showing that “the student does not have any contagious diseases hard or impossible to treat.”
8. 6 photos (passport size)
9. Educational visa received from the authorized Turkish Representatives in the applicant’s country
10. Bank slip showing that the tuition fee has been paid
11. If available, a copy of the Certificate of Proficiency in English (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS)
12. Applicants are evaluated by the relevant faculty and a “Letter of Acceptance” is sent to the students accepted. Applicants are required to visit Turkish Embassy in their country (or the nearest one) with this “Letter of Acceptance” and receive the Educational Visa.
13. The document of Educational Visa and the Certificate of Residence that will be taken from the provincial Directorate of Security, following the registration procedures.

 P.S: The applicants who fail to receive the Letter of Acceptance can ask for it on oidb@gazikent.edu.tr as of August 29th, 2011.

VIII. Social Security
The registration in Social Security Institution will be executed for all the upcoming students, and the insurance premiums will be covered by the student himself/herself in accordance with the law # 6111. The premium to pay in Social Security Institution is approximately $ 65.

IX. Medium of Instruction
1. The medium of instruction is Turkish for the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Law Faculty, and Department of Architecture. The medium of instruction is English for the Departments of Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.
2. One year of English Preparatory Program is required for all the departments except Law Faculty.
3. Those who succeed in English Proficiency Examination held at the beginning of the Academic Year by Gazikent University or prove success at one of the equivalent examinations accepted by Gazikent University are exempted from Preparatory Program and can register for consecutive departments directly.
4. Students who are registered in the departments in which the medium of instruction is Turkish and who receive (A) and (B) from Turkish Proficiency Test, which is included in YÖS, are allowed to start with the courses of the department. Students who obtained (C) in Turkish Proficiency Test would be registered, but would study Turkish language for one more year. At the end of this one year, those who certify that they are proficient in Turkish can begin their education. Unsuccessful students in the proficiency test would be dismissed and their registration is cancelled.

X. Scholarships
1. Gazikent University will award International Student Scholarship up to 25 students receiving the right for admission to an Undergraduate Program at Gazikent University, coming from different countries. These countries will be decided by the University Senate. Scholarship will include: - Tuition fee - Accommodation - Insurance premiums International Student Scholarships will be valid for 1 year of Preparatory Class and 4 years of Undergraduate Study in accordance with the conditions of success and attendance.

- The Middle East
- The Balkans
- Africa
